If you were, for example, running an exercise or diet startup, that’d give you something to visualise. Hence, it feels a little abstract adding features to an undefinable thing. Since you’re running a social media company, you don’t really have any actual products to speak of. That said, there’s one thing about Startup Panic that never really landed for me. ![]() Still, whatever path you take, building up your empire is entertaining enough, and it’s a real rush when you to get to recruit your first non-goldfish employee. ![]() But then again, Startup Panic does try to echo real business so I wouldn’t be surprised if the overall consequences are minimal. I’m hoping that, if I do fall to the dark side on a subsequent playthrough, there’ll be actual consequences. I steered clear of crunch but the temptation was always there. You can be on the receiving end of said behaviour or, having resigned from your job due to excessive overwork, you can inflict that misery on your employees. My ‘innovations’ went down like a lead balloon, forcing me to actually doing something useful.įortunately, Startup Panic does offer plenty of opportunity for mayhem and unethical conduct later in the game. Oh, right… that’d be Facebook.īut, thanks to Startup Panic, you can create a social media empire where you don’t get hauled in front of congress for being a law unto no-one but yourself. The graphics are bright and colorful and while not outstanding the work perfectly for this kind of game, the icons for making new apps and important business decisions are easy to navigate and as long as you don't go and work for "Big Company" when you are offered at the start of the game (this will end the game early) this is a really fun simulation game. The game has a relaxing soundtrack and the tutorial guides you nicely in to it without being too in the way and helps you to understand the tasks that you will need to make your little developer do to try and go from a tiny company to a much larger one, eventually you will need to hire employees and work on bigger projects and hopefully bring the stock value of your company up as high as possible. Startup Panic is a simulation/strategy game where you play as the sole starter of your own software development company, you must then design new apps and software to raise the value of your company and try to make your startup successful.īased on the developers own experiences this is a really fun game for those who love simulation games where your choices can affect the success or failure of your company. ![]()
